Thank you for your support in Project Ghana

Thank You to those who partnered with us on the Ghana Project and helped send $10,000 of medical and school supplies to benefit the needy children in that country as they are served by of a University of Georgia team of students who paid their own way to go, including Mike's sister, Abbey.

On August 16, 2005 SGT Mike Stokely was Killed In Action near Yusufiyah Iraq while serving as a member of the 108th Cavalry of Georgia's 48th Brigade Army National Guard.  In the first few hours of learning of his death our family with the help of many friends and strangers started the Mike Stokely Foundation to allow for a means to express appreciation of Mike's sacrifice and show support for our family in a manner we felt he would be most honored to receive and that he was known for doing while alive - reaching out and helping others, especially those in need - www.mikestokely.com.

Original Project Ghana Information

Mike's sister, Abbey, will be flying to Ghana this summer to meet up with her University of Georgia Nutrition and Health Sciences Study Abroad Student Team for six weeks where they will work with children with nutrition and medical problems.  The students on this team are paying their own way and if you would like to learn more about their mission please use this link - http://www.fcs.uga.edu/ss/sa_ghana.html

WE ARE SEEKING PARTNERS to help purchase thermometers, pulse oxygen sensors and educational supplies for children 2 - 8 years of age.  The goal is to serve 200 children and brighten their day with the generosity of Americans.   Our time line is short as we need to have the supplies ready to ship by the middle of April because it takes six weeks for the supplies to make normal transit at an affordable cost and we wish to minimize shipping costs.   Economic times are difficult and resources in every home, business and community is limited.   We ask that those who who read this email search their heart and if they feel led to do so, please contribute a one time tax deductible gift of $20 to supply one child and be one of 200 to help the Foundation reach its goal.   And help of a lesser or greater amount will be equally well received and put to good use for the Ghana Project as the total need is not limited to serving 200 children.  Every penny of the hard earned dollars contributed will be used to buy the supplies needed for Project Ghana and none of the Ghana Project money will be used for administrative expenses, salaries, trip expenses, etc.
